Liberia Anti-Trafficking and Scam Victim Support Initiative Expands National Partnerships to Strengthen Anti-Trafficking Awareness

Monrovia, Liberia – 29 July 2026 – The Liberia Anti-Trafficking and Scam Victim Support Initiative [LATSVSI] continues to strengthen its national awareness campaign by engaging key stakeholders in the fight against human trafficking, irregular migration, and scam-related crimes.

As part of this effort, the Initiative today signed a strategic partnership with the Community Services Department of the Liberia National Police [LNP], headed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Samuel Ford.

The partnership aims to integrate public awareness messages on human trafficking, irregular migration, and scam prevention into community outreach programmes conducted by the department across Liberia.

The collaboration represents an important step towards expanding community education and promoting public vigilance against trafficking in persons and related forms of exploitation. Through coordinated outreach, both institutions seek to increase public understanding of trafficking risks, strengthen prevention efforts, and encourage timely reporting of suspected cases.

Recognising that human trafficking is a transnational crime requiring coordinated action, LATSVSI will also engage international partners, including the International Organization for Migration [IOM], the International Development Law Organization [IDLO], diplomatic missions, and other development partners, to seek technical cooperation and institutional support for nationwide awareness and capacity-building initiatives.

“The fight against trafficking cannot be won in isolation. It requires government, security institutions, civil society, international partners, and communities to carry one message: save lives and protect the future of our young generation,” said Zokerseh B. Saye, Executive Director of LATSVSI.

The Initiative remains committed to working alongside government institutions, civil society organisations, international agencies, and local communities to advance a comprehensive response to human trafficking. It looks forward to building strong partnerships that will enhance prevention efforts, protect vulnerable populations, and support Liberia’s commitment to combating trafficking in persons in accordance with national and international standards.
