LATSVSI ANNOUNCES SAFE RESCUE AND RETURN OF TWO LIBERIAN CHILDREN AFTER 3 YEARS MISSING

MONROVIA, Liberia – The Liberia Anti-Trafficking and Scam Victim Support Initiative [LATSVSI] commends the dedicated efforts of its team as we continue working to restore hope and reunite families affected by human trafficking and scam-related crimes.

We are pleased to announce the successful rescue and return of two Liberian children who had been missing from their families for more than three years after falling victim to a scam that led them to leave Liberia. Their families had initially believed they had travelled to Canada.

Following a report made to our office, LATSVSI launched a comprehensive investigation and intelligence-led search, which established that the children were in another African country rather than Canada.

Through coordinated efforts, the children were safely rescued and have now returned home to Liberia. Their families have expressed profound gratitude for their safe return and for the support provided throughout the process.

On Tuesday, the Executive Director will host a press conference to officially welcome the victims home. The event will also feature exclusive interviews with the rescued victims and their parents, who will share their experiences and the impact of this successful reunification.

The Liberia Anti-Trafficking and Scam Victim Support Initiative remains steadfast in its commitment to combating human trafficking, irregular migration, and scam-related activities through prevention, investigation, victim support, and public awareness.
