About these figures
- County returns are aggregate monthly totals compiled by county focal points. They count people identified as victims of trafficking or related exploitation in that county and month.
- A person is counted in the county where they were identified, which is not always where they were recruited or exploited.
- Higher numbers can reflect stronger reporting rather than more trafficking. Counties with few reports still need attention.
- No names, ages or locations finer than county level are ever published.
