Liberia Anti-Trafficking Victim Support Initiative works across Liberia's 15 counties to identify victims of trafficking, get them the support they need, and build the evidence that holds traffickers to account.

To identify, protect and support survivors of human trafficking in Liberia, and to hold traffickers to account through evidence and partnership.

A Liberia where no one is bought, sold or exploited.
What we do
Identify and protect. We receive reports from communities, partners and survivors, assess the risk and make sure anyone in danger is moved to safety.
Refer and support. Survivors are referred to shelter, medical care, counselling, legal aid and family tracing, and we follow up until each referral is complete.
Pursue justice. With the survivor's consent, we work with law enforcement and the courts, and track each case through investigation to judgment.
Count what matters. Every case, victim and suspect is recorded in a secure national register. Aggregated, anonymous figures are published here to guide where prevention and services are needed.
How we work
- Survivor-centred. Survivors choose what support they accept and whether to take part in a prosecution.
- Confidential. Case records are restricted by role. Identities are never published, and small numbers are suppressed in public figures.
- Do no harm. We do not take action that could put a survivor, a reporter or their family at greater risk.
- Accountable. Every change to a record is logged, and our figures are open to scrutiny by partners.
