Liberia Anti-Trafficking and Scam Victim Support Initiatives Highlights Major Success in Combating Human Trafficking, Calls for Greater National and International Support
Monrovia, Liberia | July 9, 2026 – The Executive Director of the Liberia Anti-Trafficking and Scam Victim Support Initiatives (LATSVSI), Mr. Zokerseh B. Saye, and the organization’s Head of Operations, Mr. Orando Gborlay, appeared on the ELBC Evening Show yesterday to discuss major human trafficking cases in Liberia, as well as emerging concerns surrounding human trafficking, scam-related exploitation, and irregular migration.
During the interview, LATSVSI highlighted its ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking through public awareness, victim support, advocacy, and collaboration with national and international partners. The organization also emphasized its involvement in one of Liberia’s largest human trafficking cases, involving 57 victims.

In a significant milestone for Liberia’s anti-trafficking efforts, all defendants in the case have been convicted, with sentencing scheduled to take place tomorrow Friday. This outcome represents an important step toward justice for the victims and reinforces the country’s commitment to holding human traffickers accountable.

Speaking during the program, Mr. Zokerseh B. Saye reaffirmed LATSVSI’s commitment to protecting vulnerable populations, supporting survivors, and working alongside government institutions, law enforcement agencies, civil society organizations, and international partners to prevent human trafficking and irregular migration.

The organization emphasized that combating human trafficking requires sustained collaboration, adequate resources, and strong institutional support. LATSVSI therefore calls upon the Government of Liberia, international organizations, development partners, the private sector, civil society organizations, and well-meaning individuals to support its anti-trafficking and victim assistance initiatives. Such support will strengthen victim protection services, expand nationwide awareness campaigns, and enhance efforts to prevent trafficking, prosecute offenders, and provide comprehensive assistance to survivors.

LATSVSI remains steadfast in its mission to promote human dignity, protect vulnerable communities, combat human trafficking and scam-related exploitation, and contribute to building a safer and more secure Liberia for all.
