LATSVSI ENGAGES NIMBA COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT ON ANTI-TRAFFICKING AND SCAM VICTIM AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
County Leadership Welcomes Plans to Expand Prevention and Victim Support in Nimba
MONROVIA, LIBERIA — The Liberia Anti-Trafficking and Scam Victims Support Initiative [LATSVSI] has held an engagement with the Superintendent of Nimba County, Hon. Kou Meapeh Gono, on plans to extend its public awareness and victim-support campaign to the county.
During the meeting, LATSVSI presented its vision to expand education on human trafficking, recruitment scams, victim protection, and available support services across Nimba County. The initiative focuses on border communities, youth, and transport hubs that are most vulnerable to exploitation.
Superintendent Gono welcomed the initiative and expressed his willingness to work with LATSVSI.
“We agreed that both sides will meet again for a more detailed conversation on the proposed awareness campaign and how to strengthen collaboration in addressing trafficking and scam-related vulnerabilities within the county,” the Superintendent’s office noted.
LATSVSI extends its sincere appreciation to the OK FM family for facilitating the engagement. The organization recognizes the critical role of media and community partners in amplifying public awareness and connecting vulnerable individuals with life-saving information and support.
LATSVSI looks forward to visiting Nimba County in the coming days to begin further discussions and explore practical steps toward launching its awareness campaign across the county.
The organization remains committed to working with government authorities, the media, civil society, and local communities to strengthen national efforts against human trafficking and scams while supporting victims and promoting “VERIFY BEFORE YOU TRAVEL” messaging throughout Liberia.
