LATSVSI Strengthens Regional Response with Launch of Comprehensive Anti-Trafficking Database System

Monrovia, Liberia – August 2, 2026 – The Liberia Anti-Trafficking and Scam Victims Support Initiative [LATSVSI] has developed a comprehensive database system designed to provide detailed, real-time information on victims of human trafficking, scams, and related transnational crimes across the West African region.

This initiative aims to strengthen evidence-based research, improve victim support services, and enhance regional collaboration in combating organized crime networks.

Key Features of the Database System
The system is designed to:
Centralize victim data to support case management, referral, and reintegration services;
Track trafficking routes, recruitment methods, and scam patterns across borders;
Support prosecution efforts by maintaining secure, documented evidence for legal proceedings.

In addition, LATSVSI is working toward integrating advanced data analytics and forecasting tools to identify emerging trends, assess potential risks, and project future developments. These insights will support policymakers, law enforcement agencies, and humanitarian organizations in developing proactive strategies to prevent trafficking and protect vulnerable populations.

Addressing a Regional Crisis
Recognizing that human trafficking and drug trafficking remain among the most pressing security and human rights challenges facing West Africa, LATSVSI emphasizes the critical importance of accurate data collection, rigorous analysis, and cross-border cooperation.

“Data saves lives. When we know where victims are coming from, how they are being recruited, and where they are being taken, we can act faster, prosecute smarter, and prevent more people from being exploited,” said Zokerseh B. Saye, Executive Director of LATSVSI.

Call for Partnership
The Liberia Anti-Trafficking and Scam Victims Support Initiative welcomes partnerships with international organizations, governments, research institutions, diplomatic missions, and development partners to:
Share and access relevant, anonymized data;
Support evidence-based policymaking;
Contribute to sustainable solutions that protect current and future generations.

LATSVSI remains committed to working with ECOWAS, IOM, UNODC, and national governments to build a safer, data-driven regional response to trafficking in persons.
